Tampa Bay Pets for Vets has been created by a group of pet professionals that saw a need for pet therapy primarily for our troops that are hospitalised for traumatic brain injury, post tramatic stress disorider, drug and alcohol addiction and sexual trauma.
We have the largest number of military heroes coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan with PSTD in the United States here at Bay Pines Veterans Hospital.
Our dogs are the only dogs certified to go into this unit but there is a need for many more and we are looking for a few good volunteers.
